At a recent DUI checkpoint, Livermore mom Sandra Burke Chesterman joined the Livermore Police Department. She shared the story of her daughter, Kristina Chesterman, a 21-year-old Chico State nursing student killed by a drunk driver in 2013. Sandra brought Kristina's bike as a powerful reminder of the dangers of drinking and driving.
As you celebrate Cinco de Mayo, honor Kristina by making safe choices: plan a ride home, pace yourself, stay hydrated, and look out for your friends. Most importantly, never drive under the influence.
Celebrate responsibly. Lives depend on it.
